I guess life is good after all!

So as many of you know, things haven't been the best around our house lately. In February, Charlie lost his job. This has been very hard on us, especially because I only work part time and they couldn't give me any extra hours. So Charlie searched for a job FOREVER! He finally got one today! Yay Charlie! It is at a berger place called Checkers. Fast food isn't the greatest job, but when you've been searching for almost 3 months, anything is better than nothing. Plus we're moving in about 6 weeks, so it isn't forever. That has mainly been the stress going on here. Then we decided to move and for Charlie to go back to school. Many different things going on adds up for mega stress. Then this past Sunday, some little Arsonist in our town decided to set it on fire! There are over 160 homes damaged or destroyed and over 6000 acres burnt. It is still going, but they say they have it in control and that is isn't threatening any homes right now. Lots of people are out of power as well. Our home never lost power and it never got too close to us, but if the winds had of shifted, well that would not have been good. So thanks to those who new about the fire and prayed for us. Now we still need some rain...

On Saturday we drove down to Shoady (Charlie's sister and her hubby) and Juan's house to meet his family and have a BBQ for Juan's B-day and Mother's Day. It was a bright hot sunny day and we had the BBQ on the beach. It was very nice outside. We took Nate down to the ocean and put his feet in, but I think the noise of the waves scared him. So we decided to go to the pool. He didn't like that either. So we took turns sitting out with him. There were lots of people there, Juan had some aunts and uncles and his sister and parent, then we had Mom and Dad Rice and us. It was a very tiring day. I could have gone home and slept for days! Too bad Nate won't let me do that. Juan and Shoady have this bean bag chair that turns into a queen sized bed. We put Nate in it and that is where he sat to feed him. He is just getting so big. He has his 6 month appointment next Wednesday. He also gets shots that day, yuk!

For Mother's Day, Charlie let me sleep in, since our church isn't till 1:00. He woke me up only for me to find a delicious breakfast. I was so exausted from Saturday that after I ate, I went back to bed for another hour. It was so nice. We had our friend Nikki and her kids come over for dinner because her husband is out of town. It was a very nice Mother's Day, thank you Charlie and Nate!

Last night we had gone for a walk, but apparently even if you can't smell or see the smoke in the air, from the fires, you can still have breathing problems. Well I don't know if Nate is teething, got a cold, has allergies, or was affected by the smokey air, but he didn't feel good last night. He didn't go to sleep until about 1:00 am and I kept having to get the snot out of his nose and he was caughing and had a fever. We gave him Tylenol and stuff, but he was just a mess. It is really hard to not sleep well when Nate has been sleeping about 11 hours at night for a few months now. He is such a good little sleeper when he isn't sick or has had shots. Guess next week ought to be fun! Also Nate has taken to loving the keyboard, so we let him "type" on it sometimes. He is just such a wonderful little miracle.

Oh, for you folks that wanted to know where in Arkansas we are going, we are going to the Rogers/Fayetteville area. We don't have a place yet because they won't hold them for that long. It is about 1 1/2- 2 hours from Springfield. Oh, and for Lori, there is a picture of the shirt you got him, we love it!

Sounds like it was a fun time with Shoady & Juan. I'd love to be able to go to the beach again soon. We might go to the beach when we go to D.C. in June/July.
